The ILP database contains documents from the Index to Legal Periodicals, which contains indices to articles that have appeared in over 500 journals from the United States, Canada, Ireland, Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand. A document is an index entry prepared by the editorial staff of the H.W. Wilson Company for an article that appears in one of the journals.

An H.W. Wilson Company product. This database is based upon the print publication Index to Legal Periodicals and includes new documents as indexing is completed.

Source(s)
Coverage includes periodicals, such as law reviews and other university publications, bar association journals, yearbooks and government publications that regularly publish legal articles of high quality and permanent reference value, indexed after July, 1981. The H.W. Wilson Company does not usually index the following:

(1) Articles of less than five ordinary pages or two folio pages in length

(2) Case Notes, Bibliographies, Biographies, and Notes of Legislation of less than two ordinary pages or one folio page in length

(3) Advertisements

(4) Letters to the Editor

(5) Departments

(6) Committee Reports

SU SUMMARYInformation that pertains to the article indexed, which may include: (1) Case (and citation); (2) Statute (and citation); (3) Title of a book or periodical article being reviewed; (4) Reviewed author; (5) Publisher; and other categories of information describing the contents of the article.

ENENDThe name of the journal in which the indexed article was published, its International Standard Serial Number (ISSN), the page numbers of the article, and other categories of information describing the article within the publication.

PL PUBLISTA listing of all publications indexed in the database by the H.W. Wilson Company.

SL SUBLISTA listing of all Index Field subject matter headings used by the H.W. Wilson Company.
